Elora Hardy, Magical Houses Made of Bamboo
The design of these structures is creative, innovative, and fresh. Hardy’s use of organic shapes and fluid lines reminds me of a modern, Asian Antoni Gaudi. Teardrop-shaped doors that hinge in the middle, pod-like bathrooms, airy spaces, and curving ceilings are trademarks of her style. It is inspiring to see someone take an ancient, indigenous building material and transform it into something modern and uniquely Balinese. Hardy is as much artist as she is architect!
